Summary of Medical Question:

endoscopic sinus surgery

Posted by:

dhiman

DOES A COPD PATIENT CAN UNDERGO ENDOSCOPIC SINUS SURGERY.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Dhiman, endoscopic sinus surgery is a minor procedure and there should not be any problem due to COPD. However, it also depends on the genral condition of the patient- age, BP, blood sugar, oxygen saturation etc. Before the surgery an anesthesiologist can examine the patient and give clearance for surgery.

Summary of Medical Question:

Preparing card for a cancer patient

Posted by:

Pramila D'Souza

Is it necessary for a patient suffering from cancer to be present when his card is prepared, as he is not in a good condition to stand in queues and wait a long time? I wish to know for a friend.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Pramila, without examining a patient it is difficult for a doctor to assess the condition. But, if you feel patient will be unnecessary troubled, you may show the documents to an oncologist. Secondly, patient can be taken to the emergency department if critical.

Summary of Medical Question:

vaginal pain

Posted by:

rosa

I had some pretty rough sex (really rough sex) about 3 weeks ago and there was alot of bleeding and pain afterwards. And it wasn't just like sore... it is much worse than that. So i guess i'm wondering if its possible to tear, break, sprain, or have any other injuries develop down there...

Oh and i was a virgin, but I don't think i was just my hymen getting ripped. So needless to say I was still tight, i don't know if that makes a difference.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Rosa, since 3 weeks have already passed and if still there are symptoms- bleeding, pain, white discharge or burning sensation while urinating, medical intervention is required. Get it examined by a gynecologist. A short course of broad spectrum antibiotic may be taken. Please take care in future as reproductive tract infections can become chronic.

Summary of Medical Question:

severe nerve damage

Posted by:

coin curtis

IN ADDITION TO MY PREVIOUS Contacts with you i enclose the requested information.
TYPE OF HERNIA- incisional.
SIZE- small.
COMPLICATIONS FROM PREVIOUS SURGERY- none
it seems to me that for such a minor operation the recuperation period of at least two years is outrageous. added to that in the continuous increase of morphine to fight the after effects- ie nerve damage-is out of order.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Colin, you concern seems to be genuine. The post operative complications after repair of a small incisional hernia are rare, risk of neuropathy is very less. Long term use of narcotic drugs are not recommended. Please take second opinion from another surgeon. Few sites given below give case studies on incisional hernia.
