Summary of Medical Question:

severe pain during sex

Posted by:

Chloe

I apologize for the personal nature of this question but tonight my boyfriend and I were having sex, and he thrust really deeply and I felt the most excruciating pain through my cervix up to my stomach. Is there any chance of this being anything serious? Thanks!

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Chloe, pain is an indication of injury. If there is no pain now, forget it. But, be careful in future.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

a woman's ovaries are just as sensitive as a man's testicles, only inside. a deep thrust could actually make your ovaries hurt just the same as if a man got hit in the testicles during football.

i agree: wait and see. and ask your boyfriend to take more shallow thrusts.

There is a possibility I may be pregnant but will not know for sure for about another 10 days. I had a cavity filled today and they used novacaine. Is it ok if I am pregnant of should I be concerned that they used novacaine?

Summary of Medical Question:

Womans Health

Posted by:

Parisa

I'm 21 years old and have had a normal period since I was 12, but for the past month i've had a problem. It started about 3 weeks ago where I started bleeding very BRIGHT red blood that wasn't heavy, didn't clot, or even smell like period blood and only lasted about 3-4 days. It started again this morning, but it's not as heavy and only shows when i wipe. I'm sure i'm not pregnant..i've taken 5 tests in the past month, i haven't started or taken any medication, and i haven't had any cramping or anything. This is really stressing me out, and I don't have insurance yet and I just need some sort of idea of what this could be..thanks in advance.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Parisa, occasionally there can be irregularity in menstruation. It is a normal phenomena and there is no need to worry. It may revert to its previous pattern after a couple of cycles. Take care of contraception. Whenever in doubt, repeat the pregnancy test.

Summary of Medical Question:

Sore on face that is not healing

Posted by:

jamie mercer

I have a sore that started out as a pimple, but now is a really big sore. I keep picking at it because, it feels like something there. It hurts, it feels like my skin is pinched or snagged on something. I have had it since March 09. I scrubbed my face really hard today with a facial scrubber and now it is bigger and an open sore. I don't know what to do. I have tried peroxide, TriDerma and nothing is helping it. I am really stressed out and depressed over this. Can you please help me? If I could send you a picture I can do that too.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Jamie, please do not fiddle with the sore- no scrubbing. Take hot saline fomentation, let it dry and apply antibiotic ointment- betadine. It should start imporving in 3 days. If there is no improvement, consult a dermatologist.

Summary of Medical Question:

worried im pregnant

Posted by:

jenny

roughly 3 months ago i had PROTECTED sex and havent had sex since then. but even when he wears a condom, i still always get nervous that i could potentially still get pregnant. the day after we had sex i started my period, so i thought i was fine. then the next month i missed my period completely. i was really worried so i bought 2 First Response home pregnancy tests. the first one was negative, so i waited a week and took the next one incase it was too soon to tell. the second one came back negative as well. i was still nervous because i skipped a period. my next period came as scheduled but was lighter than normal. finally, a week before my next period my dermatologist put me on Yaz birth control pills and told me to start my first pack the day of my next period. so i was really hoping that it would come as planned. the first day that it came it was VERY light, but i started the pills anyway, but.. my "period" only lasted a day and a half. is that normal? could i still be pregnant?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Jenny, it is unlikely to be pregnancy. You may continue the pills as advised. In the initial couple of years after menarchy there can be some irregularities in menstruation. In most of the cases these irregularities settle down itself. Whenever in doubt, repeat the pregnancy test.
