Hi, My brother has been diagnosed with Schizoid personality disorder. What is the difference between negative Schizophrenia symptoms and Schizoid personality disorder? I find both very close to each other. What is the treatment for this disorder?

Very Irregular Menstral Cycle

I am 29, I have never had very regular periods, but the older I get the farther apart it is. I am only getting 2 periods a year now. I am in a very happy relationship and where are not necessarily trying to conceive but we feel if it happens it happens. Well I think there is something wrong with my plumbing. I have no heath insurance so i cant go to the doctors, i was just laid off. My old doctor tried putting me on birth control to regulate it but i stopped cause i don't want it to make things worse, also it makes me sick. What are some reasons that this is happening, im not stressed, im very happy, not over or under weight, not to active but i exercise. Please help

Okay so it is october 13 and i missed my period last month it useally comes on the 24 or 25 and i never missed one before. Now im getting these stomach spasems on the right side, they dont hurt or anything but im scared that i might have a baby, i dont want a baby right now. thanks for reading hope you can give me an answer soon. thank-you

Miranda, please get your urine tested for pregnancy. Home test kits are readily available. If it is positive and you don't want a baby, immediately go for medical termination of pregnancy. Earlier the safer.

I just started using the pill and am on my last week of regular hormone pills. I noticed some bleeding which I thought was spotting two days ago and it stopped within the same evening. I then tried to have sex that night for the first time with my boyfriend and it hurt too much as i had assumed so we stopped. The next day i woke up and had blood again. I have now been bleeding for two days and have had cramps and am assuming I am having my period.Im not sure if the spotting i saw was my period. Is there a chance an egg could have been released even if im on the pill and have been taking it properly? We were not using a condom as I was told my pill ( im on avaine a no name version of alesse) would be effective soon. I am concerned, although he did not ejaculate inside of me I do not know if he might have pre-ejaculated. Do I need to worry? should i get plan B? If so how should I take it should i stop using my pill?. I hope you can help me as I am not ready to be pregnant . thank you

Faith, occasional irregularities in mentruation are a normal phenomena. In this case it seems to be an early menstrual bleeding. During menstrual bleeding there is no possibility of conception. After the bleeding stops, you may start a new pack of contraceptive pills and take pills regularly. Whenever in doubt, you may get urine test for pregnancy done and home test kits are readily available. Secondly, besides taking protection against conception, you should also take protection against STIs, HIV/ AIDS.

Thsnk you for your advise. The lump in my anus has grown bigger,hard, painful n itchy now. There are two lumps in my anus after my mom help me to check when i complain of discomfort. One of them is bigger while the other is smaller. If it's warts, how do i deal with this problem? The doctor who examined me last time was a general surgeon. He told me that there is a small piles inside the anus. The lumps (nodules) are located outside the anus. Is the nodules contagious? Do i need to go for surgery to remove it or just do a biopsy? Is there any side effect after surgery?

Selena, anal wart is a highly contagious sexually transmitted infection. Treatment (podofilox cream) is available but there is no cure. Biopsy or surgery may not help if it is wart. Please refer to the following website that gives a clear picture of the leision and other details:

Dani, painful intercourse and foul smell in vaginal discharge indicates infection in vagina. Fungal infections like clamydia are quite common and can be treated with medication. Please refer to a gynecologist for treatment. For the complaint of infertlity, first your semen is to be examined for sperm count and their health. If it is normal, then your friend's organs are to be checked for patency of tubes and whether ovum is produced and released etc.

Charbel, there is an extremely rare condition- cerebral fat embolism in which fat droplets reach blood vessels of brain and cause obstruction of blood flow. Please show your wife's MRI to another neurosurgeon and take a second opinion.

My wife is a breast cancer survivor and I read where she should avoid sugar, among other foods. Does this avoidance include starch which converts to sugar? Potatoes, corn and bread?

i see no reason to avoid particular foods. i think she should eat as she pleases, adhering to a healthy balanced diet. she's had enough trouble without avoiding certain foods and then worrying if she really wants a pizza.

Sam, these are symptoms of flue or upper respiratory tract infection. Give your son broad spectrum antibiotic like amoxycillin and anti fever drug like paracetamol. Consult a pediatrician. He will be alright. But, all parents should be aware that during an illness if their baby has high grade fever or is not fully conscious or is not active or is not taking normal diets or has rapid breathing or has difficulty in breathing, immediatey be taken to a hospital.

age, 45,from last 3years facing Problem of Urin Stopping, on Dec.'09 A Laser Operation done of urethra by this stopping of urin solve but size of urin growing from hole is very small its take nearly 7 to 10 minutes for urin now, similarly some time water remains in stomach and affects on urin not growing properly for 6 to7 time in a day this position remains 1 day after its automatically clear. Again Small growing of urin continues Actual that Dr. not inserted Stent in Urethra, it it necessary to insert urethra to big the hole for it again I have to do the surgery please advise?
