Summary of Medical Question:

decayed/missing teeth on MRI/CT scan

Posted by:

julie

i have had atleast 12 migraines in teh past 5 weeks. they are all right behind my right eye. last year i went to the ER b/c i couldn't see out of my right eye and was very confused. last night i gotthe MRI/CT scan that was done a year ago to see the xrays for myself. there is a black "thing" behind my right eye on the CT and the MRI. i do have a missing tooth as well as a decayed tooth both on the right side of my mouth - would this show up in either of these scans? i'm hoping the black "thing" is the missing/decayed tooth.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Julie, it is difficult to interpret MRI images but you can read the report given by MRI expert/ radiologist. If you find difficulty in understanding technical terms, we can help you. In migrain generally MRI report is normal. You may try drugs like sumtryptan for pain.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

MRI's are very hard to interpret, esp. for the layman. please don't try it or you will surely freak out. only a doctor trained in interpretation can give you any answers. sounds like you have suffered long enough. call up your doctor and remember: you pay his/her salary, ultimately. so you don't have to be humble. get answers!
good luck.

Summary of Medical Question:

swollen feet

Posted by:

Albert

Please I need help. My feet is badly swollen. I have MS and heart problem. My heart is pumping to fast. In summer my feet get swollen just a little because of the heat, but now it's not summer. My feet is swollen very bad. Could it be that I have water.
Please help I appreciate.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Albert, when heart is not able to pump the blood properly, water starts accumulating in body. Generally in heart problems accumulation of water in the lungs cause difficulty in breathing. For swelling in legs, kidney function is to be investigated- urine examination, blood urea, creatinine, sugar etc need to be tested. Please consult a physician.

Summary of Medical Question:

skin rashes

Posted by:

khim

I started work at a library less than 2 weeks ago. In my 2nd week into the job, I started to itch in my hands and arm after handling some books and they disappear almost immediately however, after i got home and a warm shower later, more rashes appear and spread over my body into the night, they itch bad, sometimes i will have rashes developed around my lips and eyelids, all these subsides by mid-day or when i pop anti-histamin but the cycle will start again the following day. I suspect the books in the library are dusty as they have been stored for some time. My job needs me to handle them constantly and I fear I may be allergic to the dust collected in these books or around the library premises. Is there a permanent treatment for my condition other than to change another job?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Khim, in specialized dermatology departments, they try to identify exact allergen (chemical that causes allergy) by exposing you to known chemicals one by one. Once it is identified they try to desensitize you by gradully increasing the dose of that chemical. This entire process is very long and its success rate is very low. Take antihistaminics regularly before entering the library.

Summary of Medical Question:

blood in stool breast cyst related?

Posted by:

Jamie-Lynn Hiscock

Almost a week age I noticed a lump on the underside of my breast and have also been expierencing a slight to moderate amount of blood in my stool for about the same amount of time. I was wondering if the two symptoms could be related or what the possible cause could be. I'm not in any pain and don't suspect an ulcer or hemeroids. Are you able to give me an idea of the severity or reason for these things?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Lump in breast and blood in stool are totally independent conditions and might have occured together by chance. Please take the breast lump seriously and consult a gynecologist. Mammography and/ or biopsy may be required to confirm the diagnosis. If blood in stool is fresh (red), colonoscopy may visualize the problem if any in lower intestine. Please consult a surgeon.

Summary of Medical Question:

flu???

Posted by:

Cindy MAttingly

my daughter is 12 she has been running a fever of 103 with a sore throat body aches headache and been sleeping all day. sounds like the flu to me do i give her medicine to reduce her fever or let it run its course

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

I would prefer to give her antibiotic like amoxycillin plus clavulanic acid and paracetamol. If fever increases, you may do cold sponging. If there is difficulty in breathing or respiration is fast, if she is not having food and drinks it indicates serious problem the child should be taken to a hospital.

shauna

ANY TIME A GET SEXAULLY AROUSED I GET A PAINFULL TINGELING SENSATION ANOUND MY VAGINA ENTRANCE

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

It could be normal.

Foul smelling discharge, itching, enlarged glands, pain during sex, etc indicate infection and in that case refer to a gynecologist for treatment.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

does anything make it go away, such as orgasm or something? it might be normal arousal. when you have sex does it hurt then?

just some things to think about.
good luck.

Extahcee

I woke up yesterday, with chills, body aches, muscle and joint pain, fever, sore throat, and a headache, and they've lasted from 8am November 2, 2009, til 6am November 3, 2009. I still have the symptoms but I just started menstruating and they seem to be lessening.

Are these symptoms related?

And if so, what could it mean?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

These are the symptoms of upper respiratory infection or sore throat. It seems by chance that these symptoms preceeded menstruation.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

this sounds like what we call in the medical profession 'the crud'. a viral infection of the respiratory tract. could be a mild case of flu or just a cold. no association with period but really glad it is going away...

Summary of Medical Question:

mental illness

Posted by:

kylie

Hi

I have a Fiance who snaps really easy. he gets angry really easy and when he does he bangs his head against doors & walls. I know that i can be snappy as well as the wedding is getting really close. I don't really want him to go on medication as i did hear that they have bad side affects. I do love him very much but i don't enjoy these break outs and scared that we might lose our unit from the yelling. Hope some one can help?

Answer by voluntary user(s)

please get him some professional help; he is not well. he is becoming violent and could hurt you. please forget about weddings and units and if you are at fault. do you want to live with a time bomb the rest of your life? do you want children endangered? seriously, he needs to be checked out completely: it could be physical or mental or emotional. whatever it is, if you won't get help, then you must get out.
