lump

Posted by:

lisa

i have a lump in my vagina on the middle flap bit it really hurts when i wee and sit down and it also hurts when i have sex with my oyfriend

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Lisa, it appears to be some infection. Please immediately get it examined by a gynecologist and take a complete course of antibiotics prescribed by her. It could be sexually transmitted infection, therefore better avoid sex or atleast use condom to prevent further transmission. Always take precuations against sexually transmitted infections as some of them like HIV/ AIDS, hepatitis are not curable.

Summary of Medical Question:

Glomus jugulare tumor treatment

Posted by:

Vikas

My sister is suffering from glomus jugulare tumor for last around 8 years. Initially she lost her hearing. Some doctors suggested for surgery but considering the side effects of the surgery (since this tumor is between brain and ENT nerves), we did not go for surgery. But now, the size of the tumor has increased further and she is getting further problem like difficulty in speaking and in eating. So, now we can't further avoid the surgery. Could you please suggest the best place for this surgery ?
Also please suggest we should go for normal surgery or gamma knife surgery?
Thanks for your help

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Vikas, in Delhi AIIMS, VIMHANS etc are good centers for neurosurgery. The neurosurgeon will assess the suitability of the case for gamma knife which is a better option.

Posted by:

mridulbhai

Sir,
I am 27 year old young man. My height is 156 cm. My body weight is 79 kgs. I am a research scholar and have to spend 10 hrs ( 9 am to 7 pm) in the lab. i want to have a diet chart to loose weight as well as stay healthy.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Mridulabhai, lots of diet charts are available on net but they are difficult to follow because of personal likeings and preferences of individual. You should reduce your diet, reduce the quantity of whatever you normally eat. Avoid fats, fried items, junk foods like cold drinks, burgers etc. Take lots of green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. Take 40 minutes walk or any exercise that you like.

Summary of Medical Question:

concussion

Posted by:

Anonymous

I hit my head hard yesterday and think I may have a concussion. Symptoms are sensitivity to light, general feeling of weakness, vomiting and headaches. I have no insurance and these symptoms still persist. I was wondering if by now it is imperative that I go to the hospital or see a physician, or if I can wait another day or two and see if I get better.

Thank you.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Vomiting and sensitivity to light are serious symptoms indicating head injury. You must immediately report to a hospital. Please take it seriously.

Marva

I have always been over weight, but over the last year or so I have gained a lot of weight. Now my stomach kind of hangs down really low, and it feels hard like a basketball. The rest of my stomach is soft. Could this be something serious. If so how can it be fixed.

Avoid alkohol and carbohydrates- junk food, bread, potatos, rice etc. Start regular exercises- long walks, jogging, cycling etc. If there are not the desired results, please consult a physician.

Summary of Medical Question:

pain in kidney region

Posted by:

Bill

My wife has pain in kidney region of the back. It is sharp, acute, intermittant, and episodic. She describes it as shooting pain. Then it goes away and she forgets about it. We are not sure if it's related to exercise or not. (She has recently increased her exercise because we are rehabbing an old house.)

My wife has insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes. Her older sister died of diabetic kidney necrosis, so it worries her.

Does the pain really stem from her kidneys, or is it lower back muscle problems?

Summary of Medical Question:

good health

Posted by:

Hello, I have an internal "Hot spot" on my upper Right leg(backside)leg and a bit into the buttock area. It feels as though I am sitting on a heated seat but with only the right side working. My skin feels normal to touch and looks no different than the upper left leg? It has been ongoing now for about a week. What would cause this?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

The skin in these patches has become hypersensitive to touch/ temperature. It could be due to several reasons including reaction to some drugs. Please consult a dermatologist.

Summary of Medical Question:

fatigue

Posted by:

Mark Robinson

I have been feeling very tired for a couple of months, sometimes sleeping for up to 18hours a day and then i still feel tired. I suffer with hypertention and have been on the same meds for a long time although i have only been taking beta blockers for a couple of months. I have recently given up smoking and drink plenty of tea and coffee and also energy drinks and have tried gleucose tablets in order to try and boost my energy levels but to no avail. Recent blood test showed nothing abnormal and obviosly i am quite concerned.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Mark, beta blockers can cause some weakness but unlikely to be to that extent. Hope blood sugar is normal. If not checked, please get it checked. Secondly, condition of heart need to be checked. ECG, color doppler and treadmill test would be required. Please consult a cardiologist.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

Summary of Medical Question:

age 7, boy, borderline diabetic

Posted by:

Jack Herlihy

I'm a grandparent asked to feed breakfast to our 7 year old grandson - can he have honey on toast or bananas on plain cereal?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Jack, it dependes on the blood sugar level. If it is very much within normal limit, you may try with one banana a day for few days and test the blood sugar level. If it remain alright, you may continue. If sugar level increases, banana will have to be stopped. Better avoid honey as it is sugar.
