Summary of Medical Question:

Head aches double vision

Posted by:

Terry

I was in a car accident on May 19th.
A truck rea ended me. I suffered injuries to my right shoulder, lower back 2 herniated discs, whiplash to my neck. My left leg is needles and pins and so is my right arm. The problem I have is constant headaches and double vision in right eye. I have had Brain Scans, C_Spine MRI, Lumbar
MRI, CT Scans of head and neck with contrast. They all show swelling and inflammation around neck ect. The neurologist found nothing and has ordered a nerve study. Sent me to ophthalmologist he said eyes were okay as far as he could tell. Sent me to a neuro- ophthalmologist and still no answers. They won't let me drive with double vision and its keeping me from working any suggestions on what could be causing my problem

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Injuries can cause double vision or diplopia. CT scan or MRI if identifies a specific cause like injury of ocular muscles, it can be fixed by surgery. If cause could not be pin pointed, treatment may not be possible. With time and ocular muscles exercise, it may improve gradully. Driving cannot be done. Please do as neuro-ophthalmologist advices.

i have backche+lower limbes pain from 7th month my platelate count 640 other investigation report is normal gender male age 21

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Platelet count of 640 is too low. It would cause bleedings. Please repeat complete blood count and consult a hematologist. If platelet count is low, transfusion of platelets would be required immediately.

ITICHING

Posted by:

Fung

I'm worried of severe itching on testicals since last few years. It is not controlable when starts.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Certain types of itching (pruritus) are caused by diseases but some of them are ideopathic and their cause is not known. Accordingly there is no remedy. One has to live with it. Sometimes it regresses on its own after few years. Please consult a skin specialist (dermatologist) and get yourself investigated to rule out other diseases like diabetes, renal, liver dysfunction etc.

There are good chances of conceiving during this period. Sex of the baby cannot be predicted. Pregnancy can be confirmed by testing urine with home test kits. These are available with chemists.

Summary of Medical Question:

Burn Marks

Posted by:

Ishu Gupta

Hi,
I would like to know if there are facilities available for doing a plastic surgery for grafting skin over burn marks on Chest and arms, at AIIMS.
The burns happened when boiling milk spilled over my brother when he was 3-4 years old and that time a plastic surgery was done for the purpose of healing. My basic concern is if it is possible to dilute or completely remove the marks which are still present and if it will be possible to do this without extracting skin from any other part of his body.
I would send snaps of the affected area if needed.

Thanks & Regards,

Ishu Gupta

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Plasic surgery or cosmetic surgery is possible to reduce burn marks on chest and arm. Skin scrapping would be required from other areas of the body. Please consult a cosmetic surgeon.

Summary of Medical Question:

bruises

Posted by:

Kathy Leibacher

I have bruises that occur from polypts that appear in my lower extremeties (legs).
I don't seem to have any reason for the bruises, like bumping or over excersion.
I was wondering what I could do, they seem to come and go quite frequently, I allways have one or two. The cyst happens first then the bruiseing and when the bruise goes away the cyst is gone also, usually in about a week.
I don't have bleeding from the nose or other bleeding problems, and was wondering if I should just get a multivitamin or what? they are quite unsightly. anything you could answer would help thanks.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

It is difficult to comment without having a look at the leisons. Cyst type of leisons could be pemphigus. Please get it examined by a dematologist.

Summary of Medical Question:

Low MCV

Posted by:

Jamie Collins

I am 16 and a blood test recently showed I have slightly low MCV levels. I have been feeling very tired (not all of the time, just maybe a couple of hours a day) and have noticed my stools are more frequent (2-3 a day). So is the low MCV related to iron deficiency or could it be something else?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Iron deficiency anemia is very common. Please get hemoglobin level tested in your blood. For complaints of many stools a day, take probiotic - lactobacilli preparation. Once stools are alright, take fresh fruits, green vegetables and meat products to deal with anemia. Take some exercises.

Summary of Medical Question:

eye condition

Posted by:

Gary

Last year around this time, some dirt got into my eye, and was lodged into the upper part of my left eye, under the eyelid. It stayed there for quite some time, and did not dislodge from my eye, as i have very dry eyes and do not create tears very easily. I went to a couple of optomotrists to see if they would be able to notice anything, but they said that there was nothing there. then after a while it somehow fell out of my eye and has left a small white bubble like a pimple under my eyelid, and is pushing on my eyelid. It does not want to pop or go down, nobody is able to help me, as they say that it is too small to cut out and i dont have a lot of money to go to an eye specialest, i also dont have a medical aid. I have tried a lot of eye ointments and drops, but nothing has helped so far. i am at my wits end and am desperate to come to a conclusion on this. i want to know what other eye ointments i can use besides what i have used so far. I have used Chloramax, Sulphedermide, Brolene and Speralerg. Please if you can give me some info on what else i can use, i will be very greatfull, as i have been sitting with this same problem for so long.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Gary, dust particles often injure inner eye lid or cornea. It is also possible that the particle is still inside and it got covered by tissues of inner eye lid. It need to be examined by an ophthalmologist and if required excess tissues need to be scrapped/ removed. Please consult an eye specialist. Drops and ointments are unlikely to be of any use.

Stomach pain

Posted by:

Anonymous

For the past two week my boyfriend has had on and off pain in the lower right side of his stomach.. around the area where your appendix would be but on the right side of his body. It can range from mild to severe pain. His relatively healthy, on occasion has a drink or two on a Friday night or drinks if he goes out. Should he see a doctor or does it sound like something that will pass? Thanks

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

It would be dvisable to get his ultrasonography of abdomen done to rule out appendicitis or pancreatitis. These are serious conditions.
