My 3 yr old threw a billiard ball at my 1 1/2 yr old, he has a large lump on right side of forehead bout the size of a half dollar and protruding a half to inch. He is acting fine doesnt seem tired. what signs should i keep an eye out for? ty

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

As long as the baby is active, accepting feeds and playing, there is nothing to worry. You have to be concerned if she starts vomiting or is resless or is sleeping too much and not responding to physical stimuli. For 48 hours you should keep a close watch on the baby. You can apply ice on the swelling on her forehead.

Summary of Medical Question:

radiating pain in left leg & pelvic joint

Posted by:

Satish

I have been suffering from acute pain in the left leg pelvic joint, pain radiating in the left leg, numb feeling in the thigh, shin, ankle and toes.I have been suffering from this pain for the last one to one & half months. It is very painful when I sleep during the night. There is no comfortable position where there is no pain.Early morning, I struggle to get out of bed, stand straight and it takes almost 1 to 2 hours for the pain to reduce and allow me to walk and do my morning routine work. After this, I start walking for sometime with the tolerable pain and slowly start feeling good and the rest of the day passes peacefully. One more night's sleep and I have to undergo the same pain for another day. I was on Naprosyn 250, 1-0-1, amezole 20 1-0-0, & caps, ocem OD 0-0-1 for 15 days upto 5th of June 2010 and at present on Omnacortic4o 1-0-0 and Caps, Ocem OD for 15 days since 8th June 2010. Is the problem really serious? Please advice.

Posted by:

suzanne poet

Hello there, my friend felt very dizzy, sounds echoed in her head, her eyeball felt like it was going to pop out and she is afraid she has had a mini stroke. She does not want to upset her family unduly and does not have e mail, that is why she has asked me to find out if the above symptoms would indicate that. Many thanks.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Stroke generally causes weakness or paralysis in one or more limbs. Please ask your friend to get her blood pressure and blood sugar checked. Ask her to consult a physician or report to ER.

If it is fresh drop of blood seprate from stool, it could be due to piles. Avoid constipation- take plenty of fluids, green vegetables and fresh fruits. You may apply proctocedyl ointment on piles. If in doubt, please consult a doctor/ surgeon.

Summary of Medical Question:

abdominal pain lower right side

Posted by:

In Pain

I have pain from under the right side of my stomach down to my leg and groin. I thought it might be due to constipation and have taken stool softners such as Magnesium Citrate and Philips pills. And while I have had very loose bowel movements the pain has not lessened. It is very hard to move or to stand up. I still can but it is very painful. About a 6-7 on a 1 to 10 scale. What could it be? What else should I do?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

We need to rule out appendicitis in this situation. Please get an ultrasonography- abdomen done and consult a surgeon. Please take it seriously as it can become an emergency.
