Summary of Medical Question:

Ob/Gyn help

Posted by:

Abby Briggs

I went off my birth control a month ago because my husband and I want to have a baby. I am supposed to be on my period this week and In the last 2 weeks I have had every symptom of being on my period... bloating, sore nipples, swollen breasts, acne, mood swings, and cramps. My problem is that all of those symptoms have been 20 times worse than they ever have been, especially the cramps, which have been almost unbearable and 800 Motrin doesn't work. Now here's my problem... I'm not bleeding what-so-ever, not even spotting. And my symptoms have now lasted almost 3 weeks. My sister said I should worry because if I'm not bleeding than where is all that tissue going to go? Could I be bleeding out somewhere else? And NOW, just today, I've come down with a fever. Can you tell me if this is something I should worry about? I have no insurance, but if this could be serious I would go and pay for a doctor visit.

Summary of Medical Question:

pain at radiating through right leg

Posted by:

Bob

for 2 weeks now pain beginning at top of right leg, radiating down to shin, worst in bed, gets better as day progresses, but sometimes hurts when walking, never had this before, can't get away from pain at night in bed, losing sleep. But sometimes it doesn't hurt much at all during the day. Ibuprofen seems to have no effect, even taking 3. Please suggest causes. No injury I can remember. In the morning it hurts very much but that's the worst time.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Seems to be sciatica. Take spinal extension exercises- backward bending of spines- very gently and to the extent possible without aggrevation of pain. Continue brufen. If there is no relief in 3 days, please get an x-ray low back- AP and lateral views done and consult an orthopedic surgeon.

Burning sensation

Posted by:

Sima

hey i am 20 yr girl and my problem is that i am having a burning sensation in my vagina. what shall i do ?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Burning sensation in vagina is likely to be due to some infection- possibly sexually transmitted inefection. You may try tablet azithromycin 1 gram single oral dose and put clotrimazole vaginal tablets deep in vagina for one week. If it is not cured ,seek consultation from a gynecologist. In future take precautions against unprotected sex- use condoms.

I need your help. i am 15 years old. i have never had sex before. Well i have been having this problem for about a month now. I have redness at the hole of my penis It feels sore inside my penis as well. It doesnt hurt to pee but it just is uncomfortable. I havent masterbating for about a week er two now and i dont no what it is. i went to the doctor two weeks ago. and they gave me a urine test and it came back that i didnt have a UTI. Well he looked at my penis and gave me cream to put on it. i put it on twice and each time i did, it hurt my penis really bad for hours... we called the doc back and he said to stop the cream but to put vasaline on it at night.. i have been doing that for about a week and a half now and i havent noticed any change.... please help me with a solution

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

urethral opening on the penis is normally red. There is nothing to worry. Probably you fiddled with it or applied unnecessary creams and caused some infection. Do not touch it except while taking routine bath. Take tablet ciprofloxacillin 500 mg twice daily for 3 days.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

Will i be ok? if i dont take the antibiotics you recommended... i am very concerned and its been about a month now... and no my penis hole isnt normal color like it should be... its red at the penis hole ... what other things can i do for it.... any baths with baking soda? please help me

Summary of Medical Question:

ENTERIC FEVER & ENLARGED LIVER

Posted by:

BALVINDER

I am having continuing fever since 4th May. After initial medication for 8 days, when there was no relief, I approached a senior physician who diagnosed it as Enteric Fever after investigation and treated with Monocef I/V (4 days) followed by Cefexime Trihydrate 200 mg (7 days). Still, the fever remains. In the evening, it comes to 99*. Besides, in the investigation it was found that my liver is enlarged to 14.5 cm MCL. I am having diabetes also. Fasting-106 & PP 167 (today). Now I am taking Udiliv-300 for liver problem, Glycomet SR 500 for diabetes and Envas 0.25 mg as prescribed by the treating physician. Can you please tell me whether the treatment is/was in right direction? What further treatment/advice I should follow.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Balwinder, if blood culture was positive for typhoid (enteric fever), the treatment was right. You can check the blood report. If fever is still there, it means the infection is not cured completely. Liver can get damaged in advanced case of typhoid. Please get the blood tests repeated for typhoid- blood culture for typhoid and widal test and compare the results with previous reports. If it is not clear, continue antibiotic, may be ciprofloxacillin 500 mg twice daily for 7 days. Secondly control blood sugar with diatary restrictions along with medication. It is important. Once infection is controlled, liver will get back normal. You may take second opinion from another physician.

Left kidney of your son is absolutely normal. Right is little small and placed in abnormal position. Its other parameters are normal. It is quite possible that it would function normally. Your baby can lead a normal life. Please also take expert opinion from a nephrologist.
