Summary of Medical Question:

urinary problem

Posted by:

Nathan H

I am a 22 year old sexually active male. About two years ago I was convinced I was showing all the symptoms of gonnorhea. I went in and got tested 4 or 5 times since then, each time verifying that I was 'clean' even when symptoms were still there. I have a burning sensation and discharge seals up at the end of my penis, making urinating difficult. The confusing part is that my symptoms last for a week or maybe two, then they go away. I have been prescribed doxycycline a few times, which seemed to help. Once or twice, after my prescription ran out, the symptoms got worse again, then went away without a trace. It has been about 6 months since symptoms last vanished. On advice from a medical doctor, I am supposed to wait until my symptoms appear again and then schedule a visit with a urologist. I just started noticing the symptoms in the last couple days, and am very worried. Any advice?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

It is urinary tract infection or infection of seminal vesicle or prostrate. Please give a sample of urine for culture and sensitivity examination. Urine is to be collected in a sterial bottle/ vial that will be provided by a clinical laboratory. Based on the report, medicines can be prescribed. Please do consult a urologist with the urine-CS report. He can make per rectal examination to check prostrate.

Summary of Medical Question:

I am currently very sore.

Posted by:

Frederic

Hi! I was hit in the back of the head 3 days ago by a man first then a softball. Both of which did not hurt that bad and only left me sore. Is there anything I have to worry about? I also thought that i might have a slight decrease in my vision that is just barely noticeable but I might just be paranoid. Please tell me I'm just paranoid!

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

If you had no headache, vomiting, dizziness or unconsciousness after the head injury, there is likely to be no problem. However, you can get your vision checked by an opthalmologist and be assured.

vitals

I hate having my vitals checked/ taken is there any way to see a doctor and not have them checked. If not I will never see a doctor again!

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Sorry, your demand is unjustified. A doctor will get incomplete information about your condition if he doesn't check your vitals.

Summary of Medical Question:

Thinning of Hair

Posted by:

Tomas

Good Morning. Im a 31 year old male in fairly good shape. About a month ago my hair starting to completely thin out. Ive had thick hair my whole life, so thick that when I go to get a hair cut they suggest thinning it out. Baldness does not run on either side of my families. Again this happened within the last month. I had blood work done two weeks ago to check my throid, diabetes etc due to the fact I have been very dizzy lately. The results came back fine. I did start using a health & wellness prodct called isagenix about 2.5 months ago which I did drop 14lbs. Other than that Im not under extreme stress or anything like that. I bought some nioxin shampoo two weeks ago which someone suggested to me. Any advice to what may be casuing this would greatly be appreciated! Sincerely, Tomas

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

There is no specific cause and remedy for thinning of hair. However please take opinion from a dermatologist.

Summary of Medical Question:

cramps and late period

Posted by:

missie

I am 16 I have normal periods usually. For some reason this month I am 3 days late and cramping worse than I ever have. I do have a history of ovarian cyst's but my doctor told me about 2 years ago that they had gone away. I am very light headed, and I feel sick to my stomach. I have been cramping for 4 days now and I have been very moody. I have tried heat, ice, Ibprofin, and midol. None of these have helped at all. There is no chance of me being pregnate I have not had sex in 2 months. What could be the cause of this and how can I treat it and the pain?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Occasional menstrual irregularity is not uncommon. Try capsule omeprazole 20 mg- one daily for reducing acidity and tablet dicyclomine - one to reduce cramps.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Take her to the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation in a large hospital. Physiotherapist can coach her quadreicepes exercises and short wave diathermy can be given. Exercises are the only alternative to knee replacement surgery.

Summary of Medical Question:

'pressure' in neck with dizziness

Posted by:

terrbeary

46 yr. old male with 'pressure' in neck and mid shoulder area with dizziness. Diagnosed with tension, prescribed Butalbital and blood tests run. 4 days on med with no relief. What else could cause these symptoms?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

It could be cervical spondylosis for which x-ray cervical spines- AP and lateral views should be done and orthopedic surgeon's opinion should be sought. Secondly, if there is heavyness/ pain in chest, we need to rule out heart problem. For which ECG should be done and a physician/ cardiologist's opinion may be taken.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

Physical exam and blood tests came back normal. No pain or problems with chest or breathing. Heart rate is normal, as is blood pressure reading since patient presented with symptoms. Butalbital side effects include dizziness so doctor advised patient to stop medication and will prescribe alternative for stress.
