Summary of Medical Question:

reduced urine flow

Posted by:

somu

I(age 29yrs,unmarried) hv recurrent pain over suprapubic region, non empty feeling after urination and reduce flow of urine since 2007. My urologist put me on Veltam -2mg for 2 months, Veltam 4.mg for 2mnts,Tamlet 3mnts, Alfusion 3mnts. But the condition didnt improve and suffered weekness. Reports: Viral Screening Profile: -Ve, Hb%: 16, Creatinine:0.91, Urine C/S:sterile RE:NAD, USG: 50ml PVR. Urodynamics: Borderline Bladder neck Obstruction. Uroflowmetry(2):Max flow 8-9ml/s, Avg:5.2-5.4ml/s, Volume:225-257ml. One month before(28/7/10) i had cystoscopy + BND(upto 26) and report says Bladder Outlet Obstruction, high up bladder neck. After that my condition drastically improved, but now the condition back to previous. I hv a post-operative appointment on comming week. What to do? opt 2nd BND or else. Plz suggest as early as possible.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Since there is no significant improvement with medicines, the surgical intervention can be thought of. Bladder neck incision is the option. But soemtimes that causes problem with ejaculation. Please consult a urologist.

If there is any reduction of sensation or power in arms, surgery can be considered. If there is no such problem, cervical collar followed by exercises might be required. Please take opinion from a neurologist/ neuro-surgeon.

carli

i am 14 years old and weigh 111.4 pounds and i am 4'11 if i get pegnant could it hurt me in any way?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

It is very dangerous to get pregnant before 20 years of age. Your organs- uterus and cervix are not developed to bear a baby and deliver it. They may get ruptured.

Summary of Medical Question:

pregnant?

Posted by:

jane doe

I'm usually very good at taking my birth control on time everyday however, last week I took a few later than usual, maybe even a day late because I forgot. I started to bleed earlier than usual because of it. My boyfriend and I had intercourse on Thursday night and he came inside of me so I started to worry and took a Plan B morning after pill to ease my worries. Since I've taken the pill my period has stopped pretty much all together even though I has started it. Is this normal and should I be worried? :eek

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

There could be irregularity in next menstruation because of emergency pills you had taken. Now you can start taking contraceptive pills regularly. In future take precautions to avoid such situation.

my periods jump around, this month I am yet to have one. I have taken 2 pregnancy test and both were negative.. Do i just wait it out?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Home test kits take couple of weeks to show positive results. You can wait for few weeks or you may get blood test for pregnancy (hCG) which is more reliable.

Summary of Medical Question:

Thyroid with Peripheral Cysts (4mm - 5mm) in both ovaries

Posted by:

Sourav Mallik

My wife is 27 years old. She has thyriod (TSH - .04micro IU/ml) on 14th April 2010. Her both ovaries are normal size but multiple small peripheral cysts (4mm - 5 mm) are seen in both ovaries as on 21/9/2009. She was shining but now a days she (specially her both hand) is becoming blackish. Please tell me about her treatment. Now I am staying at Agra, UP.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

For thyroid problem, she should be treated. Please consult a endocrinologist/ physician and he will prescribe medicine the dose of which has to be adjusted by repeated blood tests. Once stabilized, the medicine has to be continued life long and she can lead a normal life. For ovarian cysts nothing can be done. If she has completed family and cysts give problem then they ovaries can be removed surgically. Till then it should be ignored.

Summary of Medical Question:

fracture lateral tibial plateau

Posted by:

Manoj Kumar Megotia

On 26th july 2010, I met with an accident on motorbike. From CT Scan and x-ray, doctors have confirmed " MINIMALLY DISPLACED FRACTURE IN THE TIBIAL PLATEAU ( LATERAL CONDYLE TIBIA) IN THE RIGHT KNEE" . I have been advised complete bedrest for 2 months with knee braces..Kindly advise if it is suitable and how much time it normally takes for complete fitness and regain full mobility /motion.Whether I need to undergo any surgery...etc... whether there will be any complications in the future... I am NWB for 1 month now and using crutches...I can bend the knee to almost 90 deg with minimal discomfort...however anything beyond that seems hard as rock....kindly advise

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

After about one and a half months, physiotherapy (exercises) will be advised and complete range of movements are likely to be possible. Do as your doctor advised. However, feel free to take second opinion from another orthopaedic surgeon by showing him latest and initial x-ray and CT reports.

Some more investigations can be done to identify the cause like dilatation and curettage with histopathology examination. In the mean time you can start taking oral contraceptive pills regularly. These pills besides contraceptive also help in regularizing menstruation.

Summary of Medical Question:

period problem

Posted by:

hleby

I am 19 and have been on birthcontrol for a year. I have only been sexualy active for about 8 months. When i started becoming sexualy active I stopped taking the sugar pills at the end of my birthcontrol pack. My periods got lighter and began to last only a few days. However, then I started missing periods. It has been two months since my last period and I have taken 7 pregnancy test and all are negative. Do you think Im pregnant?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

21 hormone pills are necessary to be consumed in a month for contraception. Sugar or iron pills are not mandatory. If 21 pills are taken regularly, conception is unlikely. However, since there is amenorrhoea for 2 months it would be advisable to test for pregnancy. Home test kits are less reliable in the initial stages. You can repeat the tests weekly a couple of times. Or you can get blood tested for hCG (pregnancy). That is very reliable test.
