Summary of Medical Question:

painless oval shaped lesion

Posted by:

rosie

Hi
I've recently noticed an pink oval shaped lesion on my partner's penis. It's on the body of the penis right where the glans ends.
It's painless but he says that sometimes after we have intercourse the lesion bleeds lightly.(especially when we have anal sex)
He is 33 and circumcised.
What can it be? What tests should we take? We have had unprotected sex so I should be tested right?
I'm really worried.
Thanks for your help

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

It is definitely a sexually transmitted infection. Syphlis generally menifest as painless ulceration on the glans penis. Blood VDRL test, culture & Sensitivity of pus or ulcer scrap can be done to identify the cause. You should also be tested for VDRL. A complete course of treatment should be taken as per diagnosis as such infections have high tendency to reoccur. Take precautions in future as some of STIs are not curable. like HIV, hepatitis B. Please immdiately consult a dermatologist/ physician.

Summary of Medical Question:

missed period

Posted by:

Chris

I'm afraid I might be pregnant..
I am 10 days late. I take the pill daily but went away to Portugal for two weeks and forget it at home. When I got home from Portugal there was supposed to be one week until I started. That week passed and then another week and then another without my period coming.
I have not gained weight, thrown up or have tender anything.
I took a pregnancy test and it came up negative but on the box said if still unsure try again in a week which I have yet to do as it will be a week on Thursday.
My other issue is that I'm unsure when I'm supposed to start have the pill again since I was supposed to start right after this period that did not come??
Please help.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Take another urine test for pregnancy and if it is negative, you may start contraceptive pills. Occasional menstrual irregularity is not uncommon. But you have to be careful and if there the second cycle is again missed, you should consult a gynecologist.

stone in stomach

Posted by:

neeti vasisht

Hi, I mistakenly took a 1.4 mm stone. What will be the treatment and how it will affect my body. plz answer me as i m very tensed due to this.
Thanks

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

If you have swollowed a stone of about 14 mm size, there are chances that it may pass through the stools. Observe your stools closely for one week. Thereafter get an ultrasonography- abdomen done to visualize the stone. If the stone is not visualized, forget it. If it is still there, please consult a surgeon.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

It is actually 14 mm not 1.4 mm..
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Please answer my query

Summary of Medical Question:

fluttering and thumping in abdomen.

Posted by:

Danielle

Okay so i have been getting these weird thumping and fluttering sensations in my stomach, but im pretty sure im not pregnant seeing as i have had my normal, heavy bleeding, clots, cramps and everything, also 2 negative pregnancy tests. It's been going on for like 3 weeks now and im freaked out. Also i have been getting a lot of gas. Please help!!

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

When food is not digested completely, gas is formed in the intestines that make sound and it moves from one part to another. Take light meals and have curd/ yogurt regularly. Secondly, take probiotic or lactobacilli preparation.

Summary of Medical Question:

foreskin not retracting

Posted by:

anonymous

My foreskin covers my penis over the head and only retracts about half an inch (head mostly covered), i am 3 1/2 inches flacid and 5 inches erect, i am unable to retract when both flacid and erect. I know men can pull theirs down but when i try it does not go any further than i stated, i am 23 and was told that your foreskin should retract (showing glans) between 13 and 18, Please Help!

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Occasionally the foreskin of some people is tight (phimosis) and it is difficult to retract it. Such cases need to undergo a small surgical procedure ,something like circumcision. Please consult a surgeon.

Can physicians detect seizure activity after an individual is under control with medication?

Posted by:

Alex

Can physicians detect seizure activity after an individual is under control with medication? I have been taking Lamictal and Klonipin, am seizure free, but was curious if one could detect whether I could be diagnosed again with a seizure disorder even though I have none currently.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

EEG may show some signs, otherwise it may not be possible to detect seizures when it is under control.

lower stomach pain

Posted by:

marie

Hi my last two periods have come every two weeks..just in the last four days i have had random sharp pains in the lower right area of my stomach..and just yesterday i got my periods again but there is hardly anything there and the blood is black.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Occasional irregularity of menstruation is not uncommon. Take rest and try an anti-spasmodic drug like dicyclomine. If there is no relief in a day or two, consult a gynecologist to rule out incomplete abortion or any problem of uterus like fibroid.

SO when it comes to healing of ocd of the knee, they say that juveniles have a greater chance of healing becouse they are still growing. So since i am 19 and may or may not be still growing. i want to know if i should buy a growing supplement ? What are some ways to stimulate growth without the use a supplement? Also do you kneed crutches when you are using a knee immobilizer??

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

At the age of 19 you are growing fast. A normal nutritious diet is enough and food suppliments cann't do something great. Crutches are generally not required with knee immobilization.

ok so i was just snowboarding and landed hard on my left knee. i went to the doctor and they took an MRI and told me that i have ocd of the knee. now i have a lateral fracture on my lateral side of my knee. what are some thing i can do to heal this >? its been two months and it doesnt feel like its healing. pleas give me any info on this.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

In case of frature, the joint has to be immobilized for 3 weeks or more. Now, please get a fresh x-ray knee AP and lateral views and get it examined by an orthopaedic surgeon. He will be able to tell whether the fracture has healed or not. If not, he will be able to tell whether internal fixation or surgery is needed or not.
