If you had undergone caesarean section, you must get investigations done to visualize the internal tissues- ultrasound/ CT scan. Please do consult a gynecologist. Secondly take pelvic muscle strengthening exercises- yoga etc.

Summary of Medical Question:

Leaking Vagina Pink Fluid

Posted by:

Elodiie

Your Question

Hello. I am 16 & female & just had sex for the first time this past weekend. Ever since, when I go too the bathroom & wipe, there is a clear, pink-ish tinted liquid. It doesnt hurt or burn or anything, im just not sure what it is. It seems like its coming from my butt, though it might be from the vagina. Help please =(

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

You need to observe carefully and find out from where the fluid is coming. If it is coming from vagina, it could be sexually transmitted infection (STI)For that you may take azithromycin 2 gm single dose and put clotrimazole vaginal pills deep in vagina for one week. If it reoccurs, consult a gynecologist. Secondly, in future take precautions against STIs. Condoms can prevent STIs.

ocd ofknee FRACTURE lateral femoral chondile

Posted by:

keegan axtell

what type of arthroscopic surgery would a docter use to heal a lateral femoral chondile fracture ocd of the knee. it is a verticle fracture. Do they use screws? and how much time would i be limited to using my leg for activites?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

All depends on the extent of the injury and whether the fractured part or chip is displaced or is in right position. Roughly 3 weeks immobilization of the joint might be required. Orthpedic surgeon after examining your x-ray/ MRI will be able to give you accurate answer.

Summary of Medical Question:

Sick for 2 months , treated twice

Posted by:

kimberly

hello
my name is kimberly and I have been sick for 2 months.
symtoms are:
Really bad cough..long dry and rather violently comes on
hardly ever cough anything up but when i do it taste of metalic almost like blood but no green or brown flem only clear
I feel sensation of drowning in deep part of chest
I have been treated with antibiotics 500 milligram amoxicillan a month ago...improved but it all seems to have come back even worse and again I am on second treatment now 10 day only 3 days left antibiotic. I am weak and still have cough
doctor took xray and it came back normal
I am traveling for work and am on road for 5 months still
so have only walk in clinics
should i go to hospital? could this be pneumonia?
Thank you for your time

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

This is infection in respiratory tract. Now, since the cough is there for 2 months, it is advisable to get it investigated properly to diagnose it's cause and rule out tuberculosis, pneumonia etc. Blood count, sputum for AFB, x-ray chest PA view (preferably digital) are needed to diagnose. Drug treatment depends on the diagnosis. Also you take hot saline gargles and steam inhalation 2- 3 times a day that will provide some relief.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

This is some infection in vagina- probably candidiasis. You may try tablet single oral dose of fluconazole and single oral dose of azithromycin on different days. If it reoccurs, you need to get the deep vaginal swab taken by another gynecologist for culture and sensitivity test and treatment would be required according to the report.

Summary of Medical Question:

5 days missed period

Posted by:

sadia bukhari

I am 5 days late to my periods. Last date was 11-june-2010, I had unprotected sex with my husband from 19-June-2010 to 23-June-2010.

On 26-June-2010 I faced medium bleeding for five days. Please note that I have Intramural fibroid in my uterus, which was detected when I went for ultrasound on 28-June-2010.

I have early pregnancy symptoms headache, little cramps in lower abdomen, weakness, fatigue, bloating, and vomiting in night after dinner.

I have done 5 home pregnancy tests all went negative.

I want to know that whether I am pregnant or not? Please advise me on the matter asap.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

There is a possibility that the last bleeding on 26th June was not menstrual but due to fibroid. Home pregnancy tests take few weeks to show positivity. You may repeat the tests every week for a couple of times. Blood test can also be done for more accurate results. Please consult a gynecologist.

Summary of Medical Question:

Enlarged lymph nodes for months etc.

Posted by:

Lucia

Hey. So I'm almost sixteen years old. And my friends are quite worried about me but I'm kind of unsure how to feel about what's been going on. So, about half a year ago my lymph node on the lower right side just above the collar bone has been enlarged. It's completly painless, and immobile. Not too hard, but not too soft. It hasn't gone away since I discovered it. An when I did I was NOT sick. Or I wasn't sick shortly after either. A month or two later, I began having chest pains with some breathing problems. The doctors didn't seem to worry too much. That went away after a month. Then a month later I got another ( what I think is a swollen lymph node) on the middle right side of my neck. Smaller, painless, immobile, and what I'd say is hard. I've had that on for more than a month or two. Neither have gone down or went away. Recently though ( within the month.) I've been having come and go abdominal pains. Kinda feels like cramps but it's DEFFINETLY not because I had my period a week before. Also, I had a feeling of fullness or like someone was pulling at my stomach or whatever is right below my ribcage. Now, I'm having those sane chest pains and breathing problems. And a few minor things from within the month which were unexplained like nausia, diarrhea, loss or appetite recently, dizziness, tired to the point where I jut want to lay down or sleep, and I've had a bit of ear pain. And I just noticed my nasal cavity always seems a bit stuffed up for no reason. And either I'm really hot, or cold personally. Not to mention I had a quick sore throat. But i don't think I had a temperature at that point. These issues hve been coming and going. But I don't know what to think of it at this point. What would you think? Or should I be concerned and get this checked out? Your help is deeply appreciated. Thankyouuu. (:

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

You need to be definitely concerned about the enlarged lymph nodes. It need to be diagnosed- hodgkins or something else by taking a biopsy from a lymph node. Please immediately consult a medical oncologist. Please take it seriously.

Summary of Medical Question:

IUD Ectopic Pregancy Abdominal Pain

Posted by:

Jen

I have recently (about 1 month ago) had my IUD removed by my gynecologist because it was expelling itself. This was about 2 weeks into my menstrual cycle at that point and my doctor told me to use another method of birth control until my next period when another IUD could be placed or I could start BCP. She also said that the IUD may not have been effective in the location where it was before she removed it and that I should take a pregnancy test. I took one that day and it was negative but I was not sure if it would be accurate due to not having been near my next period. I began to notice at this point a constant pressure-like pain in my upper left abdomen which I saw my family doctor for about a week or so later. He put me on Prevacid to see if it would help...it did not help. At this point he also ordered blood tests that came back normal and included in this was a pregnancy test that was also negative...this would have been probably the week before I was due for a period. I then saw him again a week and a half later as a follow up and he ordered an abdominal ultrasound which was normal and the only notes being that parts of my pancreas were not visable. A few days after this I should have had my period and did not and I took another pregancy test...it was POSITIVE! I saw my gynecologist a day later and have just had the second of two blood draws to check the progress of the pregnancy. I don't have these results yet but am seeing my doc again tomorrow. I am very scared that I have an ectopic pregnancy with all this abdominal pain and now the pregnancy test results but the doctors say my pain is too high for that. What can I do to help get this solved as soon as possible? Should I keep the pregnancy if this abdominal pain is not resolved and not related? I can't sleep with it now and can't imagine what it would be like as the pregancy would continue.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Your concern is very genuine. Repeat ultrasound need to be done to diagnose pregnancy and rule out ectopic pregnancy. In case it is ectopic, it need to be terminated immediately. Please consult an obstetrician in a hospital.

Summary of Medical Question:

vitamin D deficient and pregnant

Posted by:

marie

I have a vitamin d deficiency and i am 9 1/2 weeks pregnant.I was prescribed 50,000 iu 2x a week before I became pregnant.I am very worried and dont want any harm done to the baby because of this and I need to know how much vitamin d a day I can take that is safe for the baby.I will be buying it over the counter most likely but i may possibly get the prescription if needed.also how long will it take to get back to normal without the vit d deficeintcy? Please help I am really stressed about this and I know its bad for the baby.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Osteoporosis or presumably vitamin D deficiency is very common among women. There is no need to worry. I would suggest you to take natural food that are rich in vitamin D like milk, fresh fruits, green vegetables, eggs and meat products. You can avoid vitamin preparations.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

It is likely that you are vitamin D deficient because the baby is using it all. You just need to continue healthy eating habits and the baby will be fine. Just be sure that you are taking a pre-natal vitamin as well because the folic acid in these pills will prevent a very serious illness in the baby(spina bifida) at least 400mg, that is the only thing I would really be worried about if I were you.

an std accident

Posted by:

haeylry

i just found out that i have chlymidia. i think that i had this std when i was pregnant. and i breast feed for four months . i am realy concerned embarassed and ashamed but i think my son might have it know. he is not where he needs to be verbally .please help

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Clamydia is not necessarily transmit from mother to baby. Especially breast feeding does not transmit it. It can be treated easily. The problem of your child may not be related to this. Please consult a veneriologist/ dermatologist for the treatment of clamydia. And consult a pediatrician for the problem of your baby.

Summary of Medical Question:

hypothyroid

Posted by:

sudhasrees

I have been diagnoised with thyroid as hypothyroid with TSH 9.71 and t3 and t4 being normal. i have been treated with eltroxin 50 mcg 1 tablet a day for 2 months. i had taken and then stopped for 7 days and took the test again for TSH. now it is 23. what does it signify

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Eltroxin may have to be continued life long. Please do not discontinue it on your own. Please start it again and then repeat TSH again after a week. The dose of eltroxin may have to be adjusted by repeating the tests. Please consult an endocrinologist.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

This signifies that you need to reduce the dosage but don't ever STOP taking it. You will likely have a hypothyroid and will need to adjust the dosage often. You should be getting it checked at least once or twice a year just to make sure your levels are good. If you become pregnant you will also need to increase your dosage as the fetus does not have a thyroid & will require thyroxine, a normal person's thyroid automatically produces more thyroxine to compensate but your thyroid may not be able to keep up. Please make sure you just keep getting tested because it WILL fluctuate.
