Summary of Medical Question:

spot on vagina

Posted by:

Bina

i found a spot on my vagina but it looks like a lump as well! I'm worried about it and don't know what to do! it stings when i urinate and wipe and its sore to touch : (

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Do not worry, it can be simple abcess that may need antibiotics or/ and drainage. Please get it checked by a gynecologist and follow her advice. Secondly as advised by a friend, sexually transmitted infections can be caused by unprotected sex, so be careful in future.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

Is this spot on the labia..(external of the vagina), if so than it sounds like a vaginal wart or herpes. If you have ever had unprotected sex it could have been contracted at any time and sometimes it takes a while for symptoms to occur. I would suggest a visit to the Gynecologist to be sure but unfortunately these horrible little things will continue to recur for the rest of your life. Unfortunately there is no cure for herpes however it is possible to have the warts burnt off but get ready for extreme pain and they will eventually rear thier ugly heads again in time. The only other possible answer to this may be a shaving mishap....lets hope. At times if you shave your vagina (pubic area) you may cut yourself and sometimes they can show up as bumps and take a long time to heal. They also will sting when you urinate and will hurt when wiping. Good luck

Period problem

Posted by:

Lauren buchan

Hello
I was 14 when I got my first period last November, I am now 15 and haven't had one since. I am worried there could be something wrong with me as I have read of girls having stuff wrong with them. Also could this mean me being infertile
please help, thank you.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

In the initial stages menstrual irregularity is not uncommon. Take nutritious diet and have regular exercises and participate in games. If there is no menstruation in next 3 months, please consult a gynecologist. Secondly, be informed that unprotected sex can cause conception that also stops menstruation.

Summary of Medical Question:

Not sure what to do about my pregnancy

Posted by:

Sara

I'm 2 weeks late on my period. I just took one pregnancy test, and it was inconclusive.?
Now, in the process of taking the second on, I started bleeding, like having a period. I noticed some blood in my urine as well. However, this pregnancy test said that I AM PREGNANT. Should I purchase another pregnancy test? Could this be an example of a " False Positive"? Or could this mean that I really am pregnant?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

It would be advisable to get repeat urine test for pregnancy with another test kit. As indicated by a friend blood test can also be taken that is more reliable.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

I've had quite a few false negatives and rarely a false positive. However, if you are experiencing a significant amount of cramping with this period you may be having a spontaneous abortion. Many women have them and don't even notice. I would suggest getting a blood test (as opposed to a urine test) for pregnancy which will require you to go to the doctor. If cramping persists you will need a pelvic exam but chances are that your uterus will expell any embrionic tissue and in that case there is no need for any medical intervention.

Summary of Medical Question:

6 weeks pregnant

Posted by:

brodie

i am due to have rhinoplasty surgery done next week. i am wondering if they will do a routine pregancy test. i do not wish to go through with the pregnancy but i want to still have my surgery done.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

General anesthesia increases the chances of pre trem labor. It is necessary for the anesthetist to know about the pregnancy and its stage during a surgery. Wherever possible, the surgery is deferred to 7th month onwards in pregnant women. I believe rhinoplast can wait.

Answer by voluntary user(s)

If you opt to have a pregnancy test done, chances are they will refuse to do the rhinoplasty due to the anaesthetic. If you are sincerely not overly concerned about this pregnancy put off the test til after your rhinoplasty.

Summary of Medical Question:

Hard Growth on Testicle

Posted by:

Greg O

I found a hard growth on my right testicle and the ultrasound came up questionable so I am supposed to have a biopsy. I am 48 years old and have 5 children. My question is: Can I make the choice to have my testicles removed? Is it ultimately my decision? If the biopsy comes back negative I do not want to have this experience again. I am not interested in having a relationship anymore and my sex drive is gone completely.

G.O.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Please get the biopsy done at the earliest and look for the report. Most probably the testicle will have to be removed.

Leaking Vagina Pink Fluid

Posted by:

Elodiie

Your Question

Hello. I am 16 & female & just had sex for the first time this past weekend. Ever since, when I go too the bathroom & wipe, there is a clear, pink-ish tinted liquid. It doesnt hurt or burn or anything, im just not sure what it is. It seems like its coming from my butt, though it might be from the vagina. Help please =(

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

You need to observe carefully and find out from where the fluid is coming. If it is coming from vagina, it could be sexually transmitted infection (STI)For that you may take azithromycin 2 gm single dose and put clotrimazole vaginal pills deep in vagina for one week. If it reoccurs, consult a gynecologist. Secondly, in future take precautions against STIs. Condoms can prevent STIs.

ocd ofknee FRACTURE lateral femoral chondile

Posted by:

keegan axtell

what type of arthroscopic surgery would a docter use to heal a lateral femoral chondile fracture ocd of the knee. it is a verticle fracture. Do they use screws? and how much time would i be limited to using my leg for activites?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

All depends on the extent of the injury and whether the fractured part or chip is displaced or is in right position. Roughly 3 weeks immobilization of the joint might be required. Orthpedic surgeon after examining your x-ray/ MRI will be able to give you accurate answer.
