If you are sure it is not sexually transmitted infection, it should be alright in few days. However, if there is any history of exposure to unprotected sex at any time in past, it would be advisable to consult a veneriologist/ dermatologist.

Summary of Medical Question:

numbness and tingling in lower arm

Posted by:

Marna

My left arm up to the elbow suddenly went numb (actually more like pins and needles sensation...I can still feel, sense temperature, move it fine) last week while riding my bike to work. I am guessing it is some kind of nerve injury...I keep waiting for the odd feeling to go away. What should I do? It doesn't really hurt and I have full use of my hand (I'm left handed), but it is somewhat distracting and I am somewhat worried it might be a symptom of a bigger problem.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Nerve conduction test should be done. Please consult a neurologist.

Summary of Medical Question:

Paragard IUD + douching with hydrogen peroxide?

Posted by:

Jane

Hello. I had sex a couple of months ago and my vaginal scent changed into an
unfamiliar odor shortly after and had stayed the same since so I researched and
discovered I may have Bacterial Vaginosis since the odor would not go away so I
did research and discovered that some women douched with 3% hydrogen Peroxide and their
odor was gone permanently so I tried it and it worked!

I am on Paragard IUD which is copper based and I began to bleed shortly after
and have been bleeding ever since. I already had my period 2 weeks prior to that
so something is not right.

Did the Hydrogen Peroxide cause my copper based IUD to dissolve? I know I
should see a gyno soon but I wanted to get an opinion also. Thank you.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

There is no known interaction of IUD with hydrogen peroxide. The bleeding could be by chance. You may wait for one more cycle and if the problem continues, consult a gynecologist.

Summary of Medical Question:

Broken or sprained foot?

Posted by:

OzzAngel

About 2 nights ago i slid down 3 steps in my house. I thought i heard a loud pop in my foot. It swelled slightly but not as bad as it did when i fractured my ankle in the past. It hurt really bad. It seems to hurt worse during the night and feels warm, first thing in the morning when i try to walk on it it is very painful, the more im on it the less it hurts, but i notice my calf feels tight and it gets a numb feeling that goes all the way up my leg but doesnt really hurt. Its more of a slight tenderness. When im sitting or laying in bed with it elevated it hurts really bad and has a warm sensation. The pain starts in my arch goes around to the top of my foot and then up the ankle. Does this sound like a sprain? I cant really afford to see a doctor especially if he is just gonna wrap it up and send me home i can do that myself. Where i work there is no excuses good enough for missing work so staying off of it is not an option. From what i have said does this sound like something i can take care of myself or do i really need to see a doctor? Thank you for your answeres.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

You may apply crepe bandage and take a tablet ibuprofen and observe for few day. Most likely it will be alright. If it is not, please consult an orthopaedic specialist.

Irregular menstrual cycle

How long does it take for a cycle to go back to normal after stopping depro provera injections? Its been about 9 months since I had my last shot and I bleed constantly. At the most it will go away for about a week, but it last for up to 2 months.

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Prolonged bleeding after depot provera is not uncommon. Please do not worry, it may take some time, say one year and it will be alright.

I HAVE UNPROTECTED INTERCOURSE WITH MY GIRL FRIEND 2 DAYS AFTER HER PERIOD. HER PERIOD WAS OVER ON 11TH JUNE 2010. DURING INTERCOURSE LITTLE QUANTITY OF SPERM EJECTED INSIDE HER. AS PRECAUTION SHE TOOK CONTERCEPTION TABLETS WITHIN 72 HOURS. AFTER TAKING TABLETS SHE HAD HER PERIOD AGAIN AFTER 10 DAYS ON 27 JUNE 2010 WHICH LAST FOR 4 DAYS. SO I WANT TO KNOW IS THERE ANY POSSIBILITY OF PREGANANCY .PLEASE REPLY ASAP. THANKS

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

Chances of pregnancy, in this case are almost nil. One week before and after menstruation are safe periods. Besides fear of conception, one should take precautions against sexually transmitted infections as some of them- HIV, hepatitis B are not curable. Condoms can protect.

i'm 32 years old and my question is. I had a test done on my muscles and what they found was vary little water just all fiber, is that way at only 180lbs I can bench 315lbs for 10 reps and dead lift over 400lbs. I also get dehydrated vary easy?

Answer by FreeMedicalHelpline.com

No, its not possibe to test the muscle and tell you that you have less water. It seems somebody is cheating you. Serum electrolytes are done to test the status of hydration. Blood sugar should be tested if you get lots of urine and like to drink lots of water.
