Summary of Medical Question:

headaches - correct medication?

Posted by:

Darryl

My son is 13 & lives with his mother. He has been having headaches & has been prescribed 'Periactin 4mg' for treatment. I'm concerned after reading some information about this medication that this is not the correct medication for him & may be doing more harm than good. I have noticed that my son squints a lot. Also, his grandfather has dry sockets or blocked tear ducts & suffers from migraines. I would appreciate another opinion on this matter. Thank you.

Summary of Medical Question:

Feeding

Posted by:

Thomas stone

My mom has a 3 port feeding tube made by Abbott. Tonight I plugged her feed line into the middle port as usual & this time it popped out & made a mess. Not sure what to do I plugged the line int to the next port. It's a little smaller of an opening & seems to be staying in place. The 3 ports are confusing to me as I only know what the nurses have showed me to do. One port says balloon & the othe 2 say nothing. I have always used the center one which is a little bigger now I'm plugged into the smaller one. Am I ok? Or am I in the wrong port?

Summary of Medical Question:

severe migrane, headaches

Posted by:

Kat

For as long as I can remember, I have always had very severe headaches and very often. I have tried to take various types of tylenol, excedrin migrane, etc. However, none of this seems to work. I normally go through a period of time where I feel fine for two or three months, then go through and entire month of being sick. Right now, I'm on week number three. My headaches typically start behind my eye, then continue until my whole head is throbbing. Then it worsens because I become sensitive to light, vomit, get dizzy or can't see straight and become constantly tired. During these periods, I usually can't watch tv, read or eat much because it only makes things worse. I spend days laying in bed, in a dark, cool room just sitting there or sleeping for hours feeling completely unrested. What might be causing this?Is there something I can do?

I think I may have torn my ACL in my right knee. I had a snowboarding crash and my knee swelled to the size of a bowling ball. It's been two weeks and I can walk and move it but I know it's not strong. I live in New Hampshire and I don't have insurance.
